Atlanta officials to take action following a weekend marked by violence during Easter.

The Atlanta Police Department is currently conducting a search for several suspects connected to a deadly shooting that took place at Piedmont Park on April 4, 2026, resulting in the death of a 16-year-old girl and injuries to a 15-year-old girl.

Authorities suspect that as many as four individuals discharged firearms during an unauthorized gathering near the western end of the park.

The incident transpired at approximately 9:03 p.m. following a gathering styled as a "teen takeover," as reported by the police. The victim, 16-year-old Tianah Robinson, was fatally shot, while another 15-year-old girl sustained injuries.

Law enforcement is currently examining security footage from the park but has yet to identify or capture the four suspects involved. A reward of up to $15,000 is being offered for any information that leads to an arrest, as stated by Crime Stoppers Greater Atlanta.

Police have indicated that a sanctioned festival had already concluded on the opposite side of the park, and this shooting is not thought to be connected to that event.

City officials in Atlanta are appealing to the community for support of the youth and are encouraging parents to assume their responsibilities.

Mayor Andre Dickens stated that the city is collaborating with neighboring jurisdictions to offer programs for young individuals, but he stressed that tackling the issue necessitates a more comprehensive approach.

  White House   press secretary   Karoline Leavitt    on Wednesday has criticized  the media, Democrats, and likely some   Republicans   in the House and Senate for trying to “sow chaos” in the White House with their response to the   Signal   text chain debacle. Leavitt was asked by a reporter if she would definitively say that no one would be fired after a journalist was accidentally added to a Signal thread with top U.S. officials discussing military plans. Leavitt said, "What I can say definitively is what I just spoke to the president about, and he continues to have confidence in his  national security team ." Trump signs executive order targeting ticket price reselling

  President Trump signed an executive order targeting the ticket reselling industry during a signing ceremony from the White House. The new order will allow the Justice Department and Federal Trade Commission to go after the reselling industry, which has used computer bots and algorithms to buy large blocks of tickets and resell them at extremely higher prices.  Musician Kid Rock, who also appeared at the Republican National Convention last July, was present at the signing in the Oval Office.  The president also took several questions from the press, including on the possibility of additional sanctions on Russia, immigration, and tariffs. “I’ve spoken to him over the years about it and it bothers him,” Trump said about Kid Rock during the executive order’s signing. “It bothers a lot of other artists.
