New poll finds Jon Ossoff leading Mike Collins in Georgia Senate race
As Georgia prepares for its 2026 United States Senate election on November 3, 2026, independent polling and media surveys paint a compelling picture:
Democratic Senator Jon Ossoff is positioned ahead of his Republican opponent, Representative Mike Collins, and he's significantly outpacing his challenger in fundraising strength. Ossoff's campaign announced an impressive $33 million raised in the third quarter alone, providing him with $26 million in available funds heading into the campaign's final phase.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution and University of Georgia collaborated on a poll released October 21, 2026, revealing Ossoff commanding an 8-point advantage over Collins. The numbers showed Ossoff at 48% support compared to Collins's 40%, with 12% of likely voters still undecided. The survey identified clear demographic patterns: Ossoff resonates strongly with women, Black communities, and younger voters, while Collins finds his base among white voters and seniors aged 65 and above. This poll carried a margin of error of 3.1%.
A separate Quantus Insights survey conducted October 15–17, 2026, corroborated these findings with Ossoff leading by approximately 7 percentage points. The poll, which included 755 likely voters across Georgia and carried a 3.8% margin of error, revealed a particularly striking detail: Ossoff is substantially outperforming fellow Democrats on the state ballot, running roughly 8 points ahead of candidates competing in the gubernatorial and lieutenant gubernatorial races.
Campaign finance records from October 2026 underscore the financial disparity between the candidates. Ossoff raised $33 million during the third quarter (July through September) and maintained $26 million cash on hand as the campaign entered its final stretch. Additionally, his campaign has directed over $3.6 million to support other Democratic candidates throughout Georgia.
Collins, by contrast, has struggled to match this pace—his second-quarter filings showed he raised approximately $2.1 million during that period, substantially trailing Ossoff's $20 million haul in the same timeframe. Complete third-quarter figures for Collins have not yet been fully disclosed in available reports.
