The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) Director-General (DG), Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim has acknowledged that the Federal Government in line with the new National Minimum Wage has approved N33,000 allowance for Corps members. The NYSC-DG revealed this while speaking to Corps members at the NYSC Bauchi State Secretariat during his working visit to the State. In a press statement posted on the official Facebook page of NYSC, the DG explained: “provision had been made for the new allowance in the year 2020 Budget, adding that payment would commence as soon as funds are released by the appropriate authorities.” Brigadier General Shuaibu Ibrahim also cautioned Corps members to be security-conscious and counseled against unconfirmed reports, news mongering  and negative usage of the Social Media. Corps members were also advised to avoid unauthorized journey .

                       Daniel Olukoya Daniel Olukoya, the senior pastor of the Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries, has rebuffed claims that MFM denomination  has the highest number of  single  ladies in Nigeria.                        Major General Hakeem Otiki The Federal High Court, Abuja on Wednesday ordered an interim forfeiture of $376,120 allegedly connected to Major General Hakeem Otiki. This followed an ex parte application by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. Justice Ijeoma Ojukwu ordered the commission to publish the court order in a national daily to enable any one interested in the money to appear and show cause why it should not be permanently forfeited to the Federal Government. The judge gave any interested person 14 days from the date of publication to show cause. She then adjourned till February 24 for hearing. Otiki is facing charges before the Army court martial in respect of the funds. The EFCC alleged that Otiki detailed some soldiers to provide escort from Sokoto to Kaduna for one Alhaji Ado Aliyu, a bureau de change operator, but  the five  soldiers  absconded with a large amount of  cash . She was arraigned alongside Tahir Saidu Daura and Prince Lawal Shoyade, before Justice Aisha Kumalia of the Borno State High Court, Maiduguri on an amended five-count charge. Investigation by the EFCC reveals that, the defendants sometime in 2018 conspired and falsely presented to one Mohammad Umar Mohammed, purported contracts for installation and servicing of 10 pieces of Chison 600A, 2009 version deluxe ultra sound system and the supply of white beans through their non-governmental organisation (Complete Care and Aid Foundation).                                         Omolola Ajayi A Nigerian woman trafficked to Lebanon, Omolola Ajayi, has been liberated and now in the custody of Nigerian embassy in Beirut. The Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM), in a WhatsApp message, said Ms. Ajayi would be return to Nigeria soon. “ She is now happily in the hands of the Nigerian Ambassador in Beirut, received warmly and happy to be in safe hands. She will be home soon by God’s grace,” the message read. Ajayi, 23, a single mother from Osun State, was fraudulently recruited as a teacher but sold as a domestic slave in Lebanon. Her video, in which she pleaded for assistance to be rescued, went viral on social media. In the video, Ajayi asserted that her employer had tried  several timed to abuse her. “My plan was to be teaching pupils English Language in Lebanon. On getting here, the person that brought me seized my passport. I was wondering what happened. I later knew I had been sold off to slavery,” she said.
