The number of persons trapped is yet unconfirmed but workers and rhe people who lives close by tried to dig people out of the rubble of the collapsed building, according to reports.
Although rescue operations have not officially commenced, at least four persons have been rescued from the rubble, according to a Channels Television reporter at the scene.
Officials of the National Emergency Management Agency say they are trying to deploy the military for crowd control as apprehensive sympathisers insist there are many people trapped inside the building.
The Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Obafemi Hamzat, has also been sighted at the scene.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt on Wednesday has criticized the media, Democrats, and likely some Republicans in the House and Senate for trying to “sow chaos” in the White House with their response to the Signal text chain debacle. Leavitt was asked by a reporter if she would definitively say that no one would be fired after a journalist was accidentally added to a Signal thread with top U.S. officials discussing military plans. Leavitt said, "What I can say definitively is what I just spoke to the president about, and he continues to have confidence in his national security team ." Meanwhile, CNN's Collins attempted to ask the press secretary a follow-up question, but was quickly cut off by Leavitt, who called on another reporter in the room.

Musician Kid Rock, who also appeared at the Republican National Convention last July, was present at the signing in the Oval Office. The president also took several questions from the press, including on the possibility of additional sanctions on Russia, immigration, and tariffs. “I’ve spoken to him over the years about it and it bothers him,” Trump said about Kid Rock during the executive order’s signing. “It bothers a lot of other artists. They go out with a $100 ticket, and it sells for $2,000 the following night.” Trump admitted that he hadn’t known much about price gouging, “but I checked it out, and it is a...
