WNBA Adjusts Schedule, Confirms Games 3 and 4 at State Farm Arena

-

The inaugural matchup of the 2026 WNBA Finals featuring the Atlanta Dream and Golden State Valkyries is set to commence on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 3:30 PM EDT at Chase Center.

Through coordinated efforts involving the league, broadcast partners, and venue operators, a strategic scheduling adjustment resolved prior booking conflicts at State Farm Arena. This arrangement enables the Atlanta Dream to utilize the 17,000-capacity downtown facility for their home contests, replacing their conventional 3,500-seat arena and substantially expanding accessibility for regional supporters.

The comprehensive best-of-seven series schedule is as follow below:

Game           Date Time (EDT)   Location TV / Streaming

Game 1 Sat., Oct. 17 3:30 PM Chase Center (San Francisco, CA) NBC, Peacock.

Game 2 Mon., Oct. 19 8:00 PM Chase Center (San Francisco, CA) USA Network, Peacock

Game 3 Wed., Oct. 21 8:00 PM State Farm Arena (Atlanta, GA) USA Network, Peacock

Game 4 Sat., Oct. 24 1:00 PM State Farm Arena (Atlanta, GA) NBC, Peacock.

Game 5* Mon., Oct. 26 8:00 PM Chase Center (San Francisco, CA) USA Network, Peacock.

Game 6* Thu., Oct. 29 8:00 PM TBD (Atlanta, GA) USA Network, Peacock.

Game 7* Sat., Oct. 31 8:00 PM Chase Center (San Francisco, CA) USA Network, Peacock.

Nevertheless, Games 3 and 4 of the WNBA Finals were relocated to State Farm Arena with modified dates and times to address arena scheduling conflicts and facilitate attendance exceeding 17,000 spectators.

Game 6 Venue Note: The specific venue for a potential Game 6 remains undetermined owing to a scheduling conflict involving another Hawks home game on October 29.

President Donald Trump declared a temporary suspension of military operations targeting Iran, explicitly excluding any fresh strikes before the November 3, 2026 U.S. midterm elections. Through a Truth Social post, Trump attributed this pause to "productive discussions" with Tehran. Trump made clear that although the U.S.-led economic blockade on Iran continues unabated, military strikes will be withheld until after the midterms. He reinforced his commitment, declaring, "IRAN WILL NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!" The announcement promptly calmed international energy markets. Before his statement, crude oil had climbed more than 5% following reports from Washington and New York news organizations suggesting the White House was seeking Pentagon strike plans to strengthen Republican electoral performance. Following his clarification, oil prices declined. This temporary halt emerges approximately eight months into an extended conflict that started with coordinated U.S. and ...

Governor Brian Kemp has strategically issued a comprehensive statewide emergency executive order encompassing all 159 counties as Georgia fortifies itself against Hurricane Isaias's anticipated impacts. The storm has intensified into a formidable Category 2 hurricane positioned in the Gulf of Mexico, with meteorologists projecting its center will make landfall along the northern Gulf Coast late Friday night or early Saturday morning.  Although Georgia sits outside the direct path of the hurricane's eye, forecasters warn that severe weather phenomena—including torrential rainfall, widespread flooding, powerful 50 mph wind gusts, and potentially dangerous spin-up tornadoes—will advance inland into the state beginning Friday evening. This executive order strategically empowers state agencies to position critical response resources ahead of time and authorizes the mobilization of up to 500 Georgia National Guard troops should conditions deteriorate. This action complements an earli...

A boil water advisory continues to affect multiple communities throughout metro Atlanta and Fulton County due to a water main rupture and temporary service disruption at the Chattahoochee Water Treatment Plant. Although the physical restoration of the water main has been completed, the advisory will remain active until at least 1:00 PM today, Tuesday, October 13, 2026, as officials await final water quality test results. The Atlanta Department of Watershed Management (DWM) has identified that residents and businesses in the following areas experiencing reduced water pressure or complete service loss must maintain boiling protocols: Southwest & Northwest Atlanta (portions), South Fulton, Fairburn, Union City, Chattahoochee Hills, and Palmetto. Until the city formally removes the advisory, affected residents should adhere to these precautions: Bring tap water to a rolling boil for one minute before consumption and allow it to cool. Rely on boiled or bottled water for all drinking, co...
