Trump Expected to Speak at Georgia Midterm Campaign Rally Today

-

President Donald Trump is set to headline a campaign rally in Dalton, Georgia, on Friday, October 16, 2026, at the Dalton Municipal Airport.

The venue will welcome attendees starting at 11:30 a.m., with preliminary programming commencing at 1:30 p.m., followed by Trump's keynote address at 3:00 p.m. Eastern Time.

This event represents a key component of the Republican midterm election strategy, designed to energize support for GOP candidates in the upcoming general election. Trump will campaign alongside Rep. Mike Collins, who is challenging Democratic incumbent Sen. Jon Ossoff for a U.S. Senate seat, while also backing Rick Jackson, the Republican nominee for Georgia Governor.

Security preparations are extensive, with local law enforcement and the U.S. Secret Service coordinating comprehensive safety protocols and traffic management. Airport Road SE, situated behind the Dalton Municipal Airport, will remain completely closed throughout Friday.

Parking restrictions are in effect along Airport Road and adjacent streets, with shoulders and county easements off-limits; vehicles violating these restrictions will be towed immediately.

Attendees must adhere to strict weapon policies—firearms are prohibited inside vehicles, and individuals discovered carrying weapons will be removed from the premises and barred from re-entry for the duration of the event.

This marks Trump's third Georgia visit in 2026, following an appearance at Wheeler High School in Cobb County in July and a campaign event at Coosa Steel Corporation in Rome, Georgia, on February 19.

President Donald Trump declared a temporary suspension of military operations targeting Iran, explicitly excluding any fresh strikes before the November 3, 2026 U.S. midterm elections. Through a Truth Social post, Trump attributed this pause to "productive discussions" with Tehran. Trump made clear that although the U.S.-led economic blockade on Iran continues unabated, military strikes will be withheld until after the midterms. He reinforced his commitment, declaring, "IRAN WILL NOT HAVE A NUCLEAR WEAPON!" The announcement promptly calmed international energy markets. Before his statement, crude oil had climbed more than 5% following reports from Washington and New York news organizations suggesting the White House was seeking Pentagon strike plans to strengthen Republican electoral performance. Following his clarification, oil prices declined. This temporary halt emerges approximately eight months into an extended conflict that started with coordinated U.S. and ...

Governor Brian Kemp has strategically issued a comprehensive statewide emergency executive order encompassing all 159 counties as Georgia fortifies itself against Hurricane Isaias's anticipated impacts. The storm has intensified into a formidable Category 2 hurricane positioned in the Gulf of Mexico, with meteorologists projecting its center will make landfall along the northern Gulf Coast late Friday night or early Saturday morning.  Although Georgia sits outside the direct path of the hurricane's eye, forecasters warn that severe weather phenomena—including torrential rainfall, widespread flooding, powerful 50 mph wind gusts, and potentially dangerous spin-up tornadoes—will advance inland into the state beginning Friday evening. This executive order strategically empowers state agencies to position critical response resources ahead of time and authorizes the mobilization of up to 500 Georgia National Guard troops should conditions deteriorate. This action complements an earli...

A boil water advisory continues to affect multiple communities throughout metro Atlanta and Fulton County due to a water main rupture and temporary service disruption at the Chattahoochee Water Treatment Plant. Although the physical restoration of the water main has been completed, the advisory will remain active until at least 1:00 PM today, Tuesday, October 13, 2026, as officials await final water quality test results. The Atlanta Department of Watershed Management (DWM) has identified that residents and businesses in the following areas experiencing reduced water pressure or complete service loss must maintain boiling protocols: Southwest & Northwest Atlanta (portions), South Fulton, Fairburn, Union City, Chattahoochee Hills, and Palmetto. Until the city formally removes the advisory, affected residents should adhere to these precautions: Bring tap water to a rolling boil for one minute before consumption and allow it to cool. Rely on boiled or bottled water for all drinking, co...
