Sean 'Diddy' Combs found guilty on 2 of 5 counts in sex trafficking trial

Jurors in the federal criminal trial of Sean "Diddy" Combs on Wednesday morning found the hip-hop mogul guilty of two of the five counts filed against him, absolving him of the other three.

The 12-member panel acquitted Combs of racketeering and sex trafficking but found him guilty of prostitution-related offenses.

After the verdict was read, Judge Arun Subramanian adjourned court while he weighs whether to grant Combs bail before sentencing. The 55-year-old, who could have been sentenced to life in prison had he been convicted of racketeering or sex trafficking, now faces a maximum of 20 years in prison.

The jury spent more than 12 hours across three days deliberating the case. On Tuesday afternoon, the panel said that it had come to an agreement on counts two, three, four and five — sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution — but was unable to reach a verdict on count one: racketeering conspiracy.

An hour into its deliberations Wednesday, the jury sent a note telling the judge that it had reached a verdict on all five counts.

After the verdict, Combs faced the courtroom gallery and clapped. A lawyer for accuser Cassie Ventura said the verdict is not their desired outcome, but Ventura is grateful for the two convictions.

Trump signs executive order targeting ticket price reselling

  President Trump signed an executive order targeting the ticket reselling industry during a signing ceremony from the White House. The new order will allow the Justice Department and Federal Trade Commission to go after the reselling industry, which has used computer bots and algorithms to buy large blocks of tickets and resell them at extremely higher prices.  Musician Kid Rock, who also appeared at the Republican National Convention last July, was present at the signing in the Oval Office.  The president also took several questions from the press, including on the possibility of additional sanctions on Russia, immigration, and tariffs. “I’ve spoken to him over the years about it and it bothers him,” Trump said about Kid Rock during the executive order’s signing. “It bothers a lot of other artists.
