Trump blames Israel and Iran for disobeying ceasefire

President Trump vented on the Israelis and the Iranians on Tuesday, expressing his unhappiness at continued fighting between the two the countries.

“We basically — we have two countries that have been fighting so long and so hard that they don’t know what the f‑‑‑ they’re doing,” Trump told reporters at the White House before taking off for a trip to The Hague for the NATO SummitIn a Truth Social post around the same time, Trump singled out Israel, in a remarkable move for the U.S. president, telling the longtime American ally: “ISRAEL. DO NOT DROP THOSE BOMBS. IF YOU DO IT IS A MAJOR VIOLATION. BRING YOUR PILOTS HOME, NOW!”

Trump told reporters at the White House he was going to see if he could “stop it” when asked about the continued attacks lobbed by both sides overnight after parts of the ceasefire were to be put in place.

“They [Iran] violated it, but Israel violated it too,” Trump said. “Israel, as soon as we made the deal, they came out and they dropped a load of bombs the likes of which I’ve never seen before. The biggest load that we’ve seen. I’m not happy with Israel.

When I say, ‘OK, now you have 12 hours,’ you don’t go out in the first hour and just drop everything you have on them. So, I’m not happy with them, I’m not happy with Iran either.”

He continued, “But I’m really unhappy if Israel’s going out this morning.”

President Trump says the cease-fire remains in force, after he demanded Israel refrain from retaliating for an Iranian missile launched towards Israel.

“ISRAEL is not going to attack Iran. All planes will turn around and head home, while doing a friendly ‘Plane Wave’ to Iran. Nobody will be hurt, the Ceasefire is in effect! Thank you for your attention to this matter!” Trump said.

He also called out Iran, saying it won’t be able to rebuild nuclear facilities. Both Israel and Iran accused the other of continuing attacks overnight.
