USA: Carlethia Russell vanished in Hoover, Alabama

Carlee Russell was on the phone with a family member when she pulled over to check on a child she saw walking on side of the Alabama interstate. She told the dispatcher about the child around 9:35 p.m., called a family member to report the same information on I-459 South near mile marker 11 to check on the toddler, the Hoover Police Department said.

Around 9:34 last night the Hoover 911 Center received a call from a 25-year-old female on I-459 South near mile marker 11 near exit 10. She told them she saw a toddler walking on the side of the interstate. After calling 911 the caller stopped to check on the child and called a family member to report the same details. The family member lost contact with her, but the line remained open.
Officers who were already en route to the location of the initial 911 call located the female’s vehicle and some of her belongings nearby, but were unable to find her or a child in the area. Hoover Police have not received any other calls of someone missing a small child.
She is identified as Carlethia “Carlee” Nichole Russell, a 25-year-old black female who is 5’4, 150-160 lbs. She was last seen wearing a black shirt, black pants and white Nike shoes. Anyone who believes they may have seen Russell or may have any information about this case is asked to call Detective Brad Fountain at 205-444-7562.

Carlee Russell has been found alive and safe, according to Hoover Police.Hoover Police said they received a call that Carlee returned home to her residence late Saturday night.Police responded to the scene to investigate this latest development in the case.

Indonesia stadium stampede leaves 125 dead

  At least 125 people died and 323 injured at an Indonesian football stadium when thousands of angry home fans invaded the pitch and police responded with tear gas that triggered a stampede, authorities said Sunday.  Arema FC supporters at the Kanjuruhan stadium marched onto the pitch after their team lost 3-2 to the visiting team and bitter rivals, Persebaya Surabaya. Officers fired tear gas in an attempt to disperse agitated supporters of the losing home side who had invaded the pitch after the final whistle in Malang, East Java, on Saturday night, the region’s police chief Nico Afinta told reporters. Many of the victims were trampled or choked to death, according to police.  Survivors described panicking spectators in a packed crowd as tear gas rained down on them.
