2023 Grammy Awards: Burna Boy loses in two categories

Grammy award-winning singer, Burna Boy has lost the two categories he was nominated for the 65th edition of the Grammy awards. The 2023 Grammy Awards was held on Sunday night at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, U.S.  
He lost to become eventually the only Nigerian artiste to win two Grammy awards in one night.  

South Africa’s Wouter Kellerman, Zakes Bantwini and Nomcebo Zikode won the award of ‘Best Global Music Performance’ ahead of Burna Boy with their song ‘Bayete’ while Masa Tukumi took the ‘Best Global Music Album’ with Sukura.

Nigeria’s Temilade Openiyi, better known as Tems, won the ‘Best Melodic Rap Performance’ category for her role in ‘Wait for U’, the 2022 hit song by Future, featuring Drake.


Beyonce received her 32nd trophy at the ceremony making her the most decorated artist in Grammy’s history.

  Arsenal beat  Newcastle  4-1 in the Premier League on Saturday. It was the Gunners' sixth successive victory in the league. They have scored 25 goals and conceded just three in that run. Arsenal are the sixth side to win their first six Premier League matches of a calendar year - the last three have won the title. Indonesia stadium stampede leaves 125 dead

  At least 125 people died and 323 injured at an Indonesian football stadium when thousands of angry home fans invaded the pitch and police responded with tear gas that triggered a stampede, authorities said Sunday.  Arema FC supporters at the Kanjuruhan stadium marched onto the pitch after their team lost 3-2 to the visiting team and bitter rivals, Persebaya Surabaya. Officers fired tear gas in an attempt to disperse agitated supporters of the losing home side who had invaded the pitch after the final whistle in Malang, East Java, on Saturday night, the region’s police chief Nico Afinta told reporters. Many of the victims were trampled or choked to death, according to police.  Survivors described panicking spectators in a packed crowd as tear gas rained down on them. President Joko Widodo ordered an investigation into the tragedy, a safety review into all football matches and directed the country's football association to suspend all matches until "security improvements"
