LAGOS BANS USE OF MICROPHONES, AMPLIFIERS AT MOTOR PARKS

The Lagos State Government on Tuesday banned the use of all forms of amplifiers at all motor parks across the State, warning that violators will be arrested and made to face the full wrath of the law.

The Special Adviser on Transportation, Mr. Oluwatoyin Fayinka stated this during a joint press briefing held in conjunction with the Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA), to enlighten the public about steps being taken to curb the menace of noise pollution in all Lagos Motor Parks/Garages.

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has emphasized its determination at ensuring a noiseless environment.

US To Revoke Visas For Glastonbury Band Over Anti-Israel Chant

The United States said Monday it was revoking visas for the British punk-rap group Bob Vylan, which led a chant at the Glastonbury festival calling for death to the Israeli military. Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau said that the United States has “revoked the US visas for the members of the Bob Vylan band in light of their hateful tirade at Glastonbury, including leading the crowd in death chants.” “Foreigners who glorify violence and hatred are not welcome visitors to our country,” he posted on X. President Donald Trump’s administration has aggressively revoked visas, mostly of students, over anti-Israel activism. Ondo State Government Signs MOU with Backbone Infrastructure for 500,000 BPD Oil Refinery

The Ondo State Government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Backbone Infrastructure Limited for the establishment of a 500,000 barrels per day oil refinery in Igbotiri, Ilaje Local Government Area of the state. The signing ceremony took place at the Governor's office in Akure. The Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti, described the proposed investment as timely and strategic, assuring the investors of a peaceful and business-friendly environment. He emphasized that the project would boost the state's economy, create meaningful job opportunities, and reduce crime. The Managing Director of Backbone Infrastructure Nigeria Limited, Mr. Henry Owonka, revealed that the refinery would be accompanied by basic infrastructure such as roads, terminal storage tanks, and others.
