Police: Georgia Man Caught Having Sex With Corpse, Charged With Necrophilia

A man in Georgia was arrested after he was allegedly caught having sex with a dead woman outside a local homeless shelter.

Deputies say they were called to the 100 block of Walnut Street just after 4 Sunday morning after a caller complained that two people were having intercourse on the front steps of the property.

Bibb County deputies approached the man and asked him to dress up, they then discovered that the woman was unresponsive. An investigation showed that she "had been deceased for some time," officials say. Deputies charged the man, identified as Kenny Obyran Whitehead, with necrophilia. 

In a related incident, a homeless man was sentenced to 12 years in prison last year after he pleaded guilty to having sex with a woman's corpse after breaking into a funeral home in Georgia.

Indonesia stadium stampede leaves 125 dead

  At least 125 people died and 323 injured at an Indonesian football stadium when thousands of angry home fans invaded the pitch and police responded with tear gas that triggered a stampede, authorities said Sunday.  Arema FC supporters at the Kanjuruhan stadium marched onto the pitch after their team lost 3-2 to the visiting team and bitter rivals, Persebaya Surabaya. Officers fired tear gas in an attempt to disperse agitated supporters of the losing home side who had invaded the pitch after the final whistle in Malang, East Java, on Saturday night, the region’s police chief Nico Afinta told reporters. Many of the victims were trampled or choked to death, according to police.  Survivors described panicking spectators in a packed crowd as tear gas rained down on them.
