Woman Behind Lawsuit Against Jay-Z Says Her Sexual Assault Allegation Is "Not True"

On September 24, 2026, an anonymous accuser (known as Jane Doe) filed a sworn declaration in a Manhattan federal court, formally withdrawing her sexual assault allegations against "Jay-Z" Shawn  Carter.

In her official court filing, the woman stated, "I have never met or spoken to Mr. Carter" and confirmed that "there is no truth to any of my claims against Mr. Carter."

The woman expressed sincere remorse, offering her heartfelt apologies to Jay-Z, his wife Beyoncé, and their entire family for the "immense pain, suffering and damage" her false allegations had caused them.

Her current legal counsel explained that while the woman maintains she experienced sexual assault as a teenager, she was genuinely mistaken in her identification of Jay-Z. She shared that her memories were inadvertently triggered after encountering a Facebook advertisement seeking victims of Sean "Diddy" Combs.

In her affidavit, she revealed that her previous attorneys—including prominent lawyer Tony Buzbee—proceeded with filing the lawsuit based solely on a single phone conversation, without conducting any thorough independent investigation or verification beforehand.

Following her formal withdrawal of the allegations and confirmation that she received no compensation or pressure in dropping the claims, Jay-Z's legal team chose to dismiss their counter-lawsuit against her for malicious prosecution and defamation.

Yet Jay-Z's legal journey continues. Though the woman has been removed from the case, Jay-Z is pursuing his lawsuit against Tony Buzbee and his law firm, contending they acted with negligence and advanced unverified, false allegations without proper care.
