Wireless Festival has been canceled following the decision to ban Kanye West from entering the UK.

As of April 2026, Kanye West, also known as Ye, has been prohibited from entering the United Kingdom. The British government denied his travel request, stating that his presence "would not be conducive to the public good," referencing his history of antisemitic statements, pro-Nazi remarks, and the song featuring the phrase "Heil Hitler."

This ban was implemented following significant public and political outcry after Ye was announced as the headliner for the Wireless Festival in London. Consequently, the entire 2026 Wireless Festival, which was set to take place in July at Finsbury Park, has been cancelled.
Major sponsors, including Pepsi and Diageo, withdrew their support before the government's action.

Just prior to the finalization of the ban, West released a statement through The Wall Street Journal, expressing his willingness to meet with the British Jewish community to "listen" and promote "unity, peace, and love," yet the Home Office moved forward with the restriction.
The Home Secretary exercised broad discretionary powers to prevent West's entry, a measure typically applied to individuals whose actions are considered to incite hatred or potentially incite community violence.

Prime Minister Keir Starmer endorsed the decision, affirming that the government stands resolutely with the Jewish community against the "poison of antisemitism."

In the past, several celebrities and public figures have been banned from the UK by the Home Office, often based on regulations concerning criminal convictions, public safety, or "non-conducive" behavior.

Notable instances include Chris Brown (assault conviction), Snoop Dogg (2006 airport altercation), Mike Tyson (1992 rape conviction), Tyler, the Creator (violent lyrics), and Martha Stewart (visa denial).
