Nigerian Police Chief Orders Disciplinary Action Over Viral Videos Of Three Officers

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Olatunji Disu has called upon three police officers from the Satellite Town Division in Lagos to report to Abuja due to a viral video depicting harassment.

The officers are accused of intimidating two individuals in the Abulado area of Lagos.

The officers are required to present themselves at the Complaint Response Unit located at the Force Headquarters in Abuja by Wednesday, 8 April.

On March 4, 2026, the officers were recorded on video conducting a stop-and-search on two young men, which sparked public outrage and initiated a disciplinary review.
The police authorities have recognized the officers featured in the viral video and have mandated their appearance for questioning, following a pledge to address misconduct appropriately.

This action is part of a broader initiative aimed at tackling misconduct within the Lagos State Police Command.
