Nigerian human rights activist, Femi Falana on Monday said it is time to mobilise Nigerians for a revolution because of excessive insecurity . Falana spoke at a symposium organized by Coalition for Revolution  (CORE) in Lagos on Monday. The police had earlier closed up the venue of the symposium at 46 Ibijoke Street, Oregun area of Ikeja, but later allowed the activists after Falana intervened. According to Falana, revolution is not a dinner party, but serious, rigorous and consistent battle for the soul of a country like Nigeria.

Sudan's ex president faces charges.

Police investigator Ahmed Ali Mohamed told the court that Mr Bashir admitted to receiving $25m (£21m) from Saudi Arabia's Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman.  Mr Bashir faces charges related to "possessing foreign currency, corruption and receiving gifts illegally". In April, Sudan's military ruler General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan said more than $113m (£93m) worth of cash in Sudanese pounds and foreign currency had been seized from Mr Bashir's home. The dislodged leader had been due in court in July - but the trial was postponed for security reasons. Mr Bashir's lawyer Ahmed Ibrahim said "there is no information or evidence with regards to the accusations of illicit gains aimed at Bashir".

Batch B Stream 2 NYSC orientation course begins Aug 20

The 2019 Batch B Stream 2 Orientation Course for the National Youth Service Corps members begins nationwide on August 20, as stated by the management of the scheme. Those deployed to Katsina State have also been scheduled to report on Tuesday, 20th August. The programme commences on August 20, and lasts till Monday, 9th September, 2019. For those deployed to Katsina, the project will take place at the NYSC permane nt orientation camp, MD Yusuf Complex, Mani Road, Katsina, Katsina State. A statement by the NYSC spokesman for Katsina State, Alex Obemeata, revealed that registration of prospective Corps Members commences on Tuesday 20th August, by 7.00 AM and will last two (2) days. The statement warned that there would be no further registration after the cut-off date of midnight Wednesday, 21st August, 2019. Officials confiscate $2.3 million worth of marijuana mixed with jalapeño peppers

Otay Mesa cargo facility in San Diego. A CBP news release says officers discovered more than 7,500 pounds (3,401 kilograms) of marijuana in the peppers' pallets. Acting CBP Commissioner Mark Morgan congratulated the officers on Twitter and noted it was the second large seizure of marijuana there within days. Authorities intercepted more than 10,600 lbs (4,808 kilograms) of marijuana in a shipment of plastic auto parts at the port Tuesday.

Lagos Market Clash - Five suspects would soon be charged to court.

     Oke-Odo Market along the  Lagos - Abeokuta Expressway  Violent confrontation which occurred on Sunday  18th August 2019 at about 9.15 am,  was said to be a result of a misunderstanding between two young men from the Hausa and Yoruba tribes. According to the Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Bala Elkana, the injured persons have been taken to a hospital for treatment while no death was recorded. He explained that arguments ensued between the two parties which led to an exchange of blows, adding that friends of the two parties joined in solidarity fight. The Police Command spokesman, however, said some people took advantage of the moment to steal and loot.
